These donations are in recognition of John's life and his role as an inspiring teacher of Chemistry at Wolverhampton Grammar School when I was a student there from 1954 to 1961 and especially during my A-levels and Oxford entrance exams. His support paved the way for my career in Education that followed. In later life I met up with John and Florence when I regularly visited my ageing parents in Wolverhampton between 2000 and 2010 and who were so welcoming when I had an hour or so to spare after finishing lunch to meet up at their house in Pennfields for a cup of tea and a chat.
